WEST VIRGINA POPPIES

This will probably complete the poppy theme for a while since their season is coming to an end and we're coming to the end of my paintings of poppies! We were vacationing in West Virginia a couple of years ago when we came upon this array of poppies, bachelor buttons and some yellow flower I didn't know, growing in the median with the mountains as a backdrop.

This is just delicious - super perspective and I love the lanscape peeping through between the grasses and flowers.

The reds, golds and blues together are gorgeous, Virginia. Í like the combination of a close-up view against a very distant background...you said you have trouble with backgrounds? You'd never know it here!
