PLEIN AIR + ALLA PRIMA
These paintings were done in Onekama, MI this week on the grounds of Camp Tosebo, on the shores of Portage Lake. The first two are plein air which means they were done outside. They were all done alla prima which means at first ~ each done in one sitting of about 1/2 an hour. The sunset was done from memory after an intense show at the end of the day. It doesn't even come close. They aren't going to break any ground in the art world and the photos aren't the best, but they remind me of the joy of being quiet and focused in that setting. I present these as color sketches of the experience.
