WOODS
A new twist to my mixed media work. The trees are stenciled onto black paper using atomized paint and stencils I cut. Then I enhanced them with colored pencil. My goal is to mat this series and sell them unframed at the gallery. They are in standard sizes, so the customer could choose the art and then choose their own frame. There will be more seasons to come, but winter is a natural!
Oh Wow!! These are so dramatic in their simplicity; an effective compromise of your good drawing abilities and the stencil-aided abstracts you've been doing for the last few years. I especially like the second piece from the top - leaning the trees creates so much character. Great series, Virginia!

I like the second one from the bottom, particularly, but they are lovely as a set as well.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
