I'll admit I've never been able to get into reading the Brothers Karamazov, or anything else he wrote. (Honest, I tried. The names overwhelmed me.) But our minister used this quote today and I thought it was an excellent way of describing my Christian walk as well as that of many fellow travelers. My hosannas also sometimes have a bit of an edge to them. They may not have been through a crucible. It's more like my hosannas have tiny fluorescent postit notes with question marks all over them.
